| Career Exploration is often
the second step in the career development process.
This step allows you to research and explore different
careers. There are nearly as many different methodologies for career exploration as
there are individuals exploring. The web is one resource available. You can
also read about careers in books, meet with a career advisor, talk with alumni, interact
with a professional association, participate in job shadowing, conduct informational
interviews, participate in an internship, etc. The list goes on and on.
Here are a few of the resources available through the
Career Services Network:
1. Schedule an appointment to meet with a career advisor
and decide which exploration method is a good fit with your learning style and personality
type.
2. Use our online career exploration
links.
3. Use the Michigan Occupational Information System
(MOIS) available on computers in the Mott Computer Lab and the Library Computer Lab.
4. Explore internship possibilities by reading our monthly internship
listings or stop by the Career Services Network to view our internship binders and
use our internship reference books.
